Apple has been slapped by a 900,000 euro fine (£750,000) for failing to inform customers about their statutory rights regarding technical support.
The Italian antitrust watchdog said that Apple has misled customers to pay for additional Apple support beyond the stated one-year despite the Italian statutory right of two years of technical support.
Apple was also ordered to publish the ruling on the firm’s web site and must amend the marketing material for the Applecare plans.
The watchdog distributed the fines across three Apple divisions operating in Italy including Apple Sales International, Apple Italy and Apple Retail Italy.
