Following speculation as to whether the notoriously tight lipped Apple would make a move into the massively lucrative netbook market, an insider appears to have stumbled upon evidence as to a new product somewhere between an iPhone and a MacBook. When questioned at a recent conference call, Apple CEO Steve Jobs claimed the firm was taking a ‘wait and see’ attitude to the netbook market.
Many have speculated that judging by the massive growth other firms have enjoyed in the sector, it is only a matter of time before Apple makes a move of its own. However Jobs has been quoted as saying “we don’t know how to build a sub-$500 computer that is not a piece of junk.”
These latest claims as to a new Apple product category emerged on a New York Times blog. You can read it here, as well as copious amounts of further speculation in the comments section below.
