iWatch likely to incorporate new iOS 8 Health app

Apple iWatch and iPhone 6 to ‘launch in October’

A new report suggests the next iPhone, along with Apple’s first smartwatch, will be on sale in October.

According to the Telegraph (via Nikkei), the iWatch will feature a curved touchscreen.

With the unveiling of iOS 8 last week it seems likely that the wearable tech will heavily feature the new Health app. It is rumoured to include sensors to collect health and fitness information.

It has also been suggested that the device may feature wireless charging and solar power.

There have been numerous rumours about when the iWatch will enter production, with the most recent claiming production will start in June.

Apple’s next flagship smartphone, the iPhone 6, is expected to launch with Near Field Communication (NFC) as well as a 10MP camera, 4.7-inch screen and humidity, pressure and temperature sensors.

Earlier rumours tipped the smartphone for release in September, but this may have been put back a month so it could be released alongside the iWatch.

It has also been reported that a larger smartphone with a 5.5 or 5.6-inch display may launch this year. It is expected to feature a sapphire screen instead of the usual Gorillas Glass used in previous devices.
