The eagle eyes at the unofficial Apple blog noticed that Apple is offering an iPhone USB micro charge adaptor on the UK web store.
New EU regulators require smartphone manufacturers to offer a universal charging system standardised on the USB micro plug. Famously proprietary Apple is one of the culprits when it comes to funny cables no good for any other device.
In what must be the cheapest Apple accessory, the firm has minimally complied by offering an iPhone micro USB adaptor for £8, scheduled to arrive the end of next week.
Of course others have for some time been selling just such adaptors for spare change. Still, this one has Apple written on it.
