Apple is likely to host a September event, at which it will unveil a vast array of new products. That's according to senior research analyst at Piper Jaffray, Gene Munster.Writing in an investment note, he said the firm is extremely likely to host a September event – largely in line with what it has done in the past – and that it would be at that event Apple would unveil the raft of new devices the firm's CFO Paul Oppenheimer alluded to during the firm's recent third quarter investment call.
In addition to that, he suggested Apple is extremely likely to unveil redeveloped models in both its iPod range, as well as its MacBook range.
"We note that the MacBook has had the same design since its launch over two years ago, and the MacBook Pro has had essentially the same design since its launch over 2.5 years ago, which was very similar in design to the PowerBook G4 released over 5.5 years ago," he wrote.
However, Munster put a dampner on the hopes of many for a new version of Apple's fabled Newton device, or a full screen touch-enabled MacBook suggesting that the firm would not roll out such products until the technologies needed have matured, which he suggested would be in around two to three years.
