AMD launches Radeon R9 285 graphics card and game promotion

AMD has launched the Radeon R9 285 graphics card alongside a Never Settle: Space Edition free game promotion to entice consumers.

AMD first unveiled the this card during its 30 Years of Graphics & Gaming event on August 23rd. It comes packed with the latest Graphics Core Next (GCN) Architecture innovations like support for the upcoming DirectX12 and AMD’s Mantle API.

It features 1,792 stream processing units, an engine clock speed of 918 MHz, 2GB of frame buffer running at 5.5 Gbps; it’s capable of delivering up to 3.29 teraFLOPS of computing performance, and has 2GB GDDR5 memory. It’s priced at $249 in the US.

AMD also launched ‘Never Settle: Space Edition’, the latest iteration of its game promotion. Gamers who purchase the R9 285 card will receive up to three games from a library of 29.

This bundle also includes the Mustang Omega Variant Racer4 from Accelerated Mass Design in Star Citizen, as well as Alien: Isolation, out on October 1st and October 7th respectively.
