AMD expects Q3 revenue drop

AMD expects Q3 revenue drop

Chip maker AMD has revised down its expectations for Q3 revenue, blaming weak demand for consumer notebooks.

For the period ending September 25th, the firm expects revenue to land in the range of one to four per cent lower than the previous quarter, which clocked $1.65 billion.

The exact figures will be announced on October 14th.

"The sequential decrease is due to weaker than expected demand, particularly in the consumer notebook market in Western Europe and North America," AMD said in a statement.
