AMD has released Catalyst 11.8 video drivers for Radeon and Firestream graphics hardware including a new Catalyst Control Center and AMD Vision™ Engine Control Center.
GPU overclocking was formerly limited to the external tool AMD Overdrive but now the AMD Vision Center provides access to both GPU and CPU overclocking although CPU overclocking is limited to AMD's multiplyer unlocked 'Black edition' processors.
Other improvements include a claimed 10 per cent performance boost for the DirextX 11 version of Crysis 2 on the Radeon HD 6000 and HD 5000 series graphics cards and an 8 per cent boost for Fear 3 on the same video cards.
Call of Duty Black Ops players will also be pleased with a hefty 20 per cent performance boost on both single and multiple video card configurations.
The new drivers also fix a range of bugs including fixing hardware acceleration for the popular video player software VLC.
You can get Catalyst 11.8 here in both 32 and 64-bit versions.
