Adobe, the creator of the ubiquitous Acrobat document viewing software, has announced that it is to cut 680 jobs, which amounts to nine per cent of its workforce.
According to the Financial Times, the vendor has stated that the cuts are part of a streamlining process, spurred by a necessity for reducing operating costs in the face of reduced demand and capital pressure from recent acquisitions.
The move comes after the company cut 600 jobs at the end of last year, but with revenue continuing to fall by another 18 per cent the vendor was forced to make further reductions.
Additionally, Adobe recently reduced the 1,200 strong workforce at recent acquisition Omniture by nine per cent.
