Acer has said that an open distribution policy is crucial to it setting up a presence in 'every channel' for its netbook and smartphone lines.
The vendor said that it does not want to restrict the sale of its smartphones and netbooks as it feels it will have a detrimental impact on its attempt to penetrate the telecoms channel.
Speaking to trade magazine Mobile, UK general manager Bobby Watkins said: "We want to be visible in the right channels so we have an open distribution strategy. It will make a huge difference on how we take to market."
The vendor currently distributes its smartphones through Micro-P and Data Select.
