Acer recorded a jump in fourth quarter profits in 2007 as part of its first yearly results announced since its acquisition of Gateway, reported CRN.Acer made a turnover of £7.4 billion for the year as a whole up 25 per cent on 2006, while profit were up 30 per cent year on year. During Q4 alone – in which time Acer bought rival Gateway – turnover was up 24 per cent on the previous year.
Following the financial announcement, Acer said that it expects notebook shipments to increase by 40 per cent and overall PC shipments to shoot up 30 per cent this year.
