Acer has set its shipment goals for 2008, targeting 20 million units of notebooks and 5.5 million units of desktop PCs. The company also aims to reach $20 billion in revenue, an increase of 40 per cent compared with 2007, with Gateway and Packard Bell contributing around 30 per cent.By the end of 2007, Acer expects to ship 15 million notebooks and 4.5 million desktop PCs, which makes Acer’s shipment growth the fastest amongst the five biggest notebook brands.
To aid in the targeted increase, Acer will centralise its worldwide marketing decisions at their headquarters. Acer’s marketing decisions had been previously made by their regional offices.
