More than 90m copies of Windows 7 licences have been sold, making it the fastest-selling operating system in history.
A post on the official Windows Blog broke the news. “We're humbled and excited that people are responding so positively to Windows 7,” spokesman Brandon LeBlanc wrote.
Windows 7 was released for manufacturers and partners in July last year, and went on general sale on October 22nd.
Microsoft’s chief financial officer Peter Klein originally made the announcement at the Morgan Stanley Technology, Media & Telecom Conference.
