Carphone Warehouse is totally out of stock of the 8GB iPhone in all UK stores, and the retailer is apparently reviewing whether or not to re-stock the model at all. 02 has sold out online with limited in-store stock, and is also undecided weather or not to re-order – fuelling speculation that a new version is on the way very soon.
"Our price promotion has given many more of our customers the opportunity to enjoy the iPhone experience," said a Carphone Warehouse spokesperson. "Due to this unprecedented demand we have now sold out of the 8GB iPhone and we're currently reviewing the stock situation. In the meantime, customers can still purchase the 16GB iPhone at the standard price at The Carphone Warehouse."
