Cloud service adoption by UK businesses expected to increase 12 per cent by 2016

78% of UK businesses using more than one cloud-based service

According to new research from Cobweb Solutions, cloud use is soaring among business users in the UK, with 78 per cent using more than one service.

In light of this research, the firm is warning that due to the final decision-making falling to the head of IT/CIO in almost three fifths of organisations, businesses are at risk of failing to see the holistic potential of integrated cloud solutions, and instead may just see cloud computing as a new delivery mechanism for software.

The large-scale survey polled 250 senior IT and business decision-makers from small, medium and large enterprise private businesses as well as the public sector.

The research found that UK cloud penetration has reached a high of 84 per cent as more businesses turn to cloud for all their business needs, and 78 per cent of businesses are using more than one cloud-based service.

Cobweb Solutions also predicts that Cloud service adoption by UK businesses is expected to increase by 12 per cent by 2016.
