Over 700 attendees went to Midwich Group’s Technology Exposed event this year.
Held at Ascot Racecourse, the event showcased a number of new tech products from a varierty of firms.
The distributor also introduced its new division Midwich Home to this year’s show. It deals with the home installations, including entertainment systems to lighting control, security, and communication networks.
“Technology Exposed has been predominantly a show for our commercial brands and commercial resellers, however it was important to show our commitment to the custom install (CI) market at this show. MidwichHome is the UK exclusive distributor for Elan, Niles, Sunfire, Aton, Xantech and Atlona residential products. We received excellent feedback on this product range from the numerous custom install customers who attended the show. We were also delighted with the reception for the new TW9000 Epson 3D projector, said sales manager Lee Hooker said.
“The visibility of MidwichHome at this event has opened up several discussions with some very interesting brands that will further enhance our offerings to the home technology channel.”
The division also announced it is expanding to head up a retail-focused division, headed up by Neil Drain, previously of Lawton Trade.
Elsewhere, one of the biggest crowd drawers was the joint release by Samsung and Microsoft of their new technology known as Surface II. Attendees registered their interest in partnering with Midwich, the sole UK distributor of Surface II, to sell the device which allows several users to manipulate items on the screen at once.
On the printing side, visitors got demonstrations from Dell, Kodak, OKI, Ricoh, and Lexmark, and could also see the latest range from Canon, Toshiba, Samsung, Brother, Panasonic and Kyocera.
Handheld and fixed readers from NordicID, mobile computing devices by Psion Optoma’s interactive 3D ultra-short-throw projector, and Panasonic’s 30 Series plasma and LCD displays were also on display.
Stephen Fenby, managing director of Midwich said, “I would like to thank everyone involved in the show for a really first class, professional event. Talking to the vendors and customers, it is clear that they were very impressed with the quality of what we achieved.”
