Microsoft has revealed that it has already seen one million installations of the Windows 10 Technical Preview.
The preview has been available for just two weeks, but in a blog post, Microsoft has said that users have already sent more than 200,000 pieces of feedback about the new operating system.
The feedback indicates that 64 per cent of those trying out the preview are doing so on actual PCs as opposed to virtual machines. “This makes us confident that a lot of the feedback is based on “medium-term” use and not just a few minutes of experimentation,” states the blog.
Microsoft also determined that 68 per cent of those previewing the operating system are launching more than seven apps per day, citing this as ‘another indicator that we have solid usage’.
Windows 10 was unveiled last month and promises improvements designed for business, including a better user experience, as well as improved ‘enterprise-grade’ security and management capabilities.
More importantly, Microsoft has decided to bring the Start menu back.
The new operating system is set to launch in 2015.
