Taiwanese PC maker Acer said that the firm expects to sell 40 to 45 million notebook computers and five million smartphones in 2011.
Providing the forecast at a recent press conference, the firm also expects revenue to increase off the back of shipments in tablet PCs which will begin shipping from March.
The firm also pointed to client ODM movements towards new manufacturing facilities in Chongqing China. Products manufactured in the Western Chinese province will make up 40 per cent of the firm’s notebooks by the end of the year.
