McAfee plans several acquisitions a year

Security firm hopes to continue recent growth, CEO says

Security software vendor McAfee plans to make up to four acquisitions each year to drive growth, the firm’s chief executive has said.

"We've been very constantly acquiring companies the last few years. We'll continue to do that. We see small- and medium-sized acquisitions as the perfect scenario for us," David DeWalt told Reuters. "Not risky acquisitions. Technology-oriented acquisitions all over the world."

Under DeWalt’s leadership, McAfee acquired security firm Secure Computing for $465 million in 2008.

The firm announced its results for the last quarter of 2009 this month, reporting double-digit growth.
