Joint venture with O2 brings phone to wider audience
Tesco has announced that it will be selling the iPhone 3G and 3GS through its joint venture with O2, Tesco Mobile.
In a brief press release, the retail giant announced that it will shortly be introducing the devices in to Tesco Phone Shops and its online service, Tesco Direct.
Unfortunately, the retailer has not yet confirmed a date when the devices will be available or released any tariff details.
Tesco Mobile is a joint venture with network operator O2, which exclusively sells Tesco Mobile branded products using O2’s network and technology. Tesco claims that the brand is the fastest growing Pay as you Go network in 2009 and it was the highest rated brand for customer service in a Which? survey earlier this year.

"Joint mobile venture with O2 brings toy phone to the mass market"
Must get my toddler one for xmas :)
The iPhone is undoubtedly the best smart phone I have ever had. I have tried loads of Symbian and Win Mobile devices and none of them are a patch on the completeness of the iPhone.
Interestingly, why are all manufacturers clamouring to copy it if it is such a toy?
The thing is, your toddler could actually figure out how to use one!
its a great pity that restrictive practices are use by the phone companys, a phone that can be used by all networks would boost trade for iphone ,there is no bt signal in my area and i will not change ,but wait for them to be available in all networks more cheaply, without having to pay for say bluetooth to be enabled etc, after all its supposed to be complete when you buy it !
