Games Market Europe looks to boost UK trade

by Lisa Foster

A new UK trade show has beenlaunched, with Games Market Europebeing spearheaded by former ECTSevent director Andy Lane.

After the battle between rival tradeshows EGN and ECTS last year, it hadseemed possible that there would be noUK event this year. However, GME looksset to fill the void, with the show takingplace at the Business Design Centre onAugust 31st and September 1st.

“After the confusion of the lastcouple of years, the games market hasbeen asking for a single, focused nononsenseevent – Games MarketEurope is this event,” said Lane. “Itdelivers on every front: it provides theright environment for business andnetworking, it’s in the right place andit’s the right price.

He added: “The UK is the home ofthe games business in Europe and webelieve it is essential that we deliverthe right event in the UK this year.
