Like the Z22, the Ear Force Z Seven headset is Major League Gaming branded and also works with mobile devices – but that’s where the similarities between the two end.
As arguably Turtle Beach’s most premium headset, the Z Seven is aimed at elite esports players and those seeking a professional audio gaming experience for PC and Mac.
It taps into the vibrant esports sector which has grown massively in recent years, with global tournaments offering prize pools of more than $1 million and attracting the best game players across the world.
The Ear Force Z Seven boasts 50mm speakers, USB Surround Sound and a fully programmable digital signal processor (DSP), giving gamers “the most immersive audio experience possible on a PC”. The Surround Sound angles can also be tweaked to satisfy the user’s desired personal preference.
The programmable DSP allows gamers to personalise their audio levels, The look and feel of the Z Seven can be customised using its removable mic boom and interchangeable speaker plates. For tournament players, the Audio Control Unit (ACU) is compatible with the Turtle Beach TM1 Tournament Mixer, letting teams chat together. Audio presets let users hear sound cues that’d usually be missed at the press of a button, whether it’s tyres screeching or the sound of unseen footsteps in the distance, helping gamers to gain a competitive advantage. There’s also an auxiliary line input for use with digital music players, portable game consoles or mobile phones, which works by connecting an accompanying 4-pole 3.5mm plug into the headset’s breakaway cable. The Z Seven has two operating modes – Headset Mode with nine game presets and Speaker Mode for use with external speakers.
Although the Z Seven launched earlier this year, it’s also benefiting from Turtle Beach’s Q4 marketing activity, ensuring that it’s at the front of gamers’ minds during the lucrative Christmas period.
The Ear Force Z Seven is available to order now and is priced at £229.
