First-person shooter The Darkness II features a violent and fast-paced co-op experience that takes place parallel to the main storyline.
The Vendettas mode is interwoven into parts of Jackie Estacado’s single- player narrative by branching out into unique missions that eventually connect back to the core story.
This co-op experience is playable for up to four friends, letting gamers choose one of four characters, all displaying their own distinctive Darkness weapons. Designed as a team- focused, mission-based experience, the game explores the crucial role each character plays in Jackie Estacado’s campaign to defeat the Brotherhood.
Bringing a unique new combat mechanic through quad-wielding, the game allows players to slash, grab, and throw objects and enemies with two demon arms while simultaneously firing two weapons. Each individual possesses unique combat styles that will help shoot, smash and disembowel enemies in a variety of brutal and entertaining ways.
Staying true to its comic book origins, the stylistic violence in this first-person shooter is visualised through a hand-painted graphic noir technique.
