Simms distributes portable storage for Apple devices

Back up files then access them wirelessly from any location

Kingston’s Wi-Drive provides pocket-sized file sharing

Simms distributors has announced that it is carrying Kingston’s new storage device, the Wi- Drive.

The Wi-Drive allows you to access another 16 or 32GB of space wirelessly from an Apple device. With the ability to share content between three users simultaneously; users are no longer limited to the space available within their iPod touch (third and fourth Gen), iPad or iPhone.

Integrated Wi-Fi means that you can back up your files before going out and then access them wirelessly from any location using the Wi-Drive, meaning that you’ll never run out of storage space. Your Apple Device can be used as a player and display for files back at home on your PC. Access to the drive is done over the 801.11 g/n protocol and uses a password, just like a typical home wireless hub.

As well as being able to share music, videos, photos and PDFs, the Wi-Drive is also a handy companion for Windows users on iPads as it removes the frustration of using auto sync to view content.

With continuous use, the Wi-Drive has up to four hours battery life. Included in the box is a mini USB to USB cable, meaning that users can easily upload content straight from their PC or Mac to the storage device, which supports native iOS formats such as MP3, JPEG, tiff and doc.

The pocket-sized design (with dimensions of 121.5mm x 61.8mm x 9.8mm) is in keeping with Apple’s own distinctive design and should make the Wi-Drive easy to transport. It also comes with 24/7 tech support and a one-year warranty.
