The two new laptops feature Dolby Digital technology and a built-in subwoofer
A partnership between Schenker Technologies and Gigabyte has resulted in the release of two ultra-thin gaming laptops.
Joining Schenker’s XMG Core series of laptops, both the 14-inch C404 mand 15-inch C504 measure 20.8mm thick and are manufactured primarily from aluminium, weighing in at 1.67kg and 2.16kg respectively.
The machines feature 3.5GHz Intel Core i7 4710HQ quad-core processors and the Nvidia GeForce GTX 4GB 860M graphics card, with the C504 upgradable to 6GB 870M graphics.
The firms behind the systems say that the internal power should be more than capable of playing existing game titles on ‘ultra’ settings in 1080p Full HD.
To address the extra heat generated by running intensive game titles, Gigabyte’s ‘Supra-Cool’ technology is used to cool the GPU and CPU separately and features three different fan speed profiles.Article continues below
Each laptop can be loaded with up to 16GB DDR3 memory. The C404 can hold up to 2TB of storage, while the C504 has room for 4TB.
They also feature Dolby Digital Plus Home Theatre System Surround technology with two speakers and a subwoofer built-in.
Other features include Gigabit networking with gaming LAN optimisation, a HD webcam, USB 3.0 and four hours of battery life.
