HP-5001K from Edimax offers networking solution
Edimax has launched an ultrafast powerline adapter kit that aims to make fast network connections simpler than ever before.
For those unfamiliar with powerline adapters generally, they’re a tool for setups at home or in the office where a wired Ethernet or phone line isn’t available at the computer, or where you might not want to rely on wireless. The powerline adapters enable you to simply plug them into a wall socket and use existing electrical wires for a network connection instead.
The HP-5001K 500Mbps Powerline Adapter Kit has been designed, as you might guess from the name, to transmit data at speeds of up to 500Mbps.
Network devices such as computers, game consoles, smart TVs and network cameras can also enjoy fast local network connectivity through its integrated gigabit (10/100/1000Mbps) Ethernet port.
Universal plug ‘n’ play installation means that the devices are straightforward to use. It is backwards compatible with the 200Mbps HomePlug AV standard.
The HP-5001K also supports Internet Protocal Television (IPTV) and Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP), which means users can use the adapter with IPTV set-top boxes or internet telephones. A hardware group button on the HP-5001K enables one-click network security setup.
