Port Royale 3 is the latest addition to Kalypso’s long-running, economic simulation franchise, which has players choose between the life of a heroic adventurer or cunning trader.
Within Port Royale 3 players must embark on an adventure through the 17th century Caribbean at a time where the dominant naval forces of England, Spain, France and the Netherlands battle it out against each other for supremacy and control of the colonies.
Embracing the life of the adventurer has players achieve notoriety through a life of piracy, bounty hunting and plundering. Attack any of the four colonial nations within the Caribbean in order to steal your riches, fortify your reputation as a pirate and live your life on the run across the high seas.
Those who choose the way of the trader must use their economic smarts to become the most powerful trading tycoon the New World has seen by establishing trade routes and developing cities. Secure favour with towns and obtain building permits in order to establish businesses and generate an honest income.
Port Royale 3 is an open-ended title, meaning players have the ability to pursue any career and play style they wish and within the title’s free-play mode, gamers have the freedom to mix all of the title’s gameplay elements together in order to create their own deeply personalised experience.Article continues below
For the first time in the acclaimed series’ history, Port Royale 3 introduces a multiplayer mode, which allows for up to four players to play against each other, develop their trade networks and then fight for victory through intense yet strategic naval combat.
