Headset uses 50mm drivers with neodymium magnets inside earcups to eliminate unwanted noise
3D may be the latest dimension for displays, but Mad Catz hopes to push audio one further with 4D Sound technology.
The latest product from the firm to use the tech is the Freq4D headset. ViviTouch actuator modules built into the headset produce low-frequency bass effects similar to a subwoofer, which create physical sensations close to the ear of the user. These sensations create the ‘4D’ experience – where users can feel sounds as if they were live audio.
The technology is made compatible with a number of platforms and devices using the integrated GameSmart technology, which also simplifies setup.
In addition to the 4D technology, the headset also uses 50mm drivers with neodymium magnets inside earcups designed to eliminate unwanted noise. The headset’s components are constructed from lightweight materials, and can be adjusted to suit personal comfort.
A microphone and mute button are also integrated into the earcups. Volume, equalizer and 4D settings can all be controlled using the in-line remote, which also supports voice calling on smartphones.Article continues below
The headset can be connected to any device with a 3.5mm audio jack, which replaces the USB cable used for connection to a computer.
