Language software publisher goes off-planet for new product with its first alien language

EuroTalk announces that today is a good day to learn Klingon.

EuroTalk claims today is a good day to learn Klingon. The company behind the Talk Now series of language learning CD-ROMs for beginners has now branched out to its first alien language.

Klingon, for those who don’t know, is the language spoken by Klingon warriors in the Star Trek TV shows and movies. Talk Now! Learn Klingon was put together with the help of Marc Okrand, the man who created the language, and covers everyday words that Klingons would use if they lived on contemporary Earth, including brand new ones (please note: phrases that are exclusive to the Klingon culture are not included).

After six televisions series and 11 movies, Star Trek has millions of fans across the globe – and niche products can be strong sellers, especially in the run up to Christmas.

“People interested in learning Klingon will get a big kick out of this product – it’s great fun!” said Marc Okrand.

As with other Talk Now titles – make no mistake, this is a serious product, it really does teach Klingon – users can learn through encouraging challenges and games that give points for making progress. It has an intuitive interface and speech recording enables users to compare voices to the approved pronunciation. Intelligent software remembers what words users get wrong and targets weak points.
