Summary of Position:
This Position will lead the Procurement Team who cover the manufacturing (full turn-key) of Handheld/Console/PC/Online products and accessories, including launch and replenishment.
The HOIP also has full responsibility for systems and processes within the procurement team, and is a vital part of the wider Global Supply Chain Team.
1. Lead the International Procurement Team in managing the Selection/on- going/withdrawal of relationships with Vendors of all International THQ Releases
2. Ensures THQ purchases New Release and replenishment Products at the best possible COGs and Quality, including any order consolidation practices
3. Ensures the Procurement Team delivers the highest level of service to all international THQ subsidiaries
4. Escalate to the Director – Intl Supply Chain where manufacturing issues and or delays in milestones are threatening the business goals
5. Manages all key vendor performance re-views and SLA’s
6. Overall responsibility for the goals of the International Procurement Team, ensuring these are inline with the International Supply Chain Roadmap
7. Identifies best operational/procurement practices on a European scale to optimize processes – and looks to extend to a Global level
Key Responsibilities:
· Build, manage, motivate, lead and review the Procurement Team, setting / reviewing annual goals and PDP’s, quarterly objectives for the department - focusing on the key business needs(encompassing the Purchasing and Procurement for all THQ International territories)
· Uses/optimizes/enhances SAP functionality and reporting for exec, Procurement, studio, first party calls/meetings, etc
· Owns the Teams communication of delivery timetables to all internal customers through effective reporting and regular meetings
· Designs and implements improved processes/workflows and operational/procurement policies. Leads Procurement Teams KPI’s as and when required, using them to improve business Unit Performance as required by the Director – International Supply Chain
· Create and maintain the external critical path for all releases, including scenario/contingency planning – ensuring the Procurement Team is fully trained to do the same
· Negotiate lead times with vendors to accommodate release dates, especially during “crunch” schedules, acting as the escalation point within the team
· Ensures processes and vendors are in place to handle component/accessory procurement for all products and ensures timely delivery – focusing on Price, Quality, Time, Process and Security
· Ensures vendor Credit limits are managed effectively and any pre-payment of credit issues are resolved with finance
· Manages vendor performances inline with SLA’s and inspects cases where quality expectation were not met with documented resolutions
· Source new suppliers as and where necessary, including leading their on-boarding
· Strong price negotiations for all components
· Owns the GPS (Global Procurement & Scheduling solution in SAP) system, and any future systems, for International Procurement, ensuring efficiency and scalability
· Create and maintain correct SAP material and purchase master data, with full responsibility for the team doing the same
· Ensures data integrity including pricing to vendors and first parties
· Ensure the Team has all International order requisitions by the target date for Purchase Orders to be raised
· Identifies future production requirements and recommends/implements action items
· Oversees management of component inventories. Works with Vendors to avoid negative inventories, ensure month-end is closed and issues resolved on a timely basis, etc.
· Ensures best practice stock utilization across territories & consolidation of territory requisitions to achieve cost benefits
· Ensure the Team has all work instructions and business processes for day to day operations documented, with a strong and conclusive Business Continuity Plan in place
· Assist the Director – International Supply Chain on ad-hoc special projects as needed
Systems Experience
· SAP R3 (Essential)
· SAP APO (Preferable)
· Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Outlook, Project and Powerpoint are key)
