Computers Unlimited appoints exports manager to help grow exclusive brands

Computers Unlimited is expanding its range of exclusive brands, and has appointed Rob Neil as export manager to help drive this.

Neil joins the distributor from audio vendor Sonoro, where he held the position of head of international business development.

He also previously worked as sales director at Armour Home Electronics.

Neil said: “I am very excited to be joining such a dynamic brand portfolio and look forward to developing the great potential offered by the brands in the international markets.”

Glenn McClelland, group commercial director at Computers Unlimited, added: “Rob is well known to CU’s Premium Audio Division, having worked with several staff previously. Rob’s knowledge of international markets is second to none, with wide ranging experience of all things audio.”

Computers Unlimited is also planning two major brand launches at the upcoming trade show IFA 2015 in Berlin.

SoundXtra, an audio accessories range, will be joining Computers Unlimited’s portfolio of products, with the first SoundXtra products to be launched at IFA. These will include extras for the Denon HEOS speaker range.

"SoundXtra takes the same high quality, innovation and attention to detail that Flexson has brought to accessories for SONOS, and applies them to other popular audio brands," said Computers Unlimited in a statement.

The second band is being kept a secret for now, with the first products set to be unveiled during IFA.

Glenn McClelland, group commercial director, commented on the upcoming brand announcement: “This is a brand addressing the single largest market in audio, delivering something no-one else has – in perfect time for peak.”

Exertis acquired Computers Unlimited earlier this year in a deal worth £24 million.
