Tech Data appoints Mark Whittle to Microsoft manager

Tech Data has appointed Mark Whittle as the company’s Microsoft business manager.

The veteran has worked at the distributor for more than 10 years and previously headed up the distributor’s Lenovo business for the past three years.

In his new role Whittle will be responsible for all aspects of Microsoft sales and supporting partners in driving their Microsoft revenues and cloud business.

Whittle said: “With the cloud really starting to take off and Microsoft leading the way, it’s a great time to be moving into the role. There is so much going on and I am really looking forward to it.”

Tech Data is also one of the first distributors to participate with the Microsoft’s Cloud Solution Provider (CSP) programme, a strong focus area for Whittle.

The programme aims to expand cloud sales opportunities for resellers, and enables Microsoft partners to offer services, provisioning, management and support for cloud products and services.

This news comes after the distributor received the 2015 Microsoft Distribution Partner of the Year Award.

This is the second consecutive year Tech Data has scooped the accolade, for demonstrating excellence in innovation.
