Microsoft unveils hybrid cloud solutions with NetApp and EMC

Day two of Microsoft’s Worldwide Partner Conference 2014 has seen the firm announce its commitment to the hybrid cloud.

Microsoft partner NetApp introduced NetApp Private Storage for Microsoft Azure – a solution that enables customers to extend their IT infrastructure to Microsoft Azure.

It was also revealed that EMC, Microsoft and Equinix are collaborating on a hybrid cloud solution that combines EMC storage running in traditional datacenters and Equinix co-located datacenters with applications running in Microsoft Azure.

Microsoft announced a go-to-market agreement with Cisco designed to help enterprises and service providers modernise their datacenters – turning them into private clouds – through the joint sales, marketing and engineering of integrated solutions.

As well as this, Intel announced that it has joined the Microsoft Cloud OS Partner Matching program, which helps customers transform their datacenter through incentives across software, server, storage, networking and services partners.

On Monday, Microsoft senior exec Phil Sorgen revealed that Microsoft is integrating the cloud into the Microsoft Partner Network, with three new cloud-focused offerings based on performance for Office 365 and Microsoft Azure.
