Metal Gear Solid V leads new wave of PC game announcements

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain will be released on PC the same day it launches on consoles – the first title in the series to do so.

Publisher Konami announced that both upcoming Metal Gear Solid title The Phantom Pain and existing console release Ground Zeroes will be coming to PC digital game download platform Steam, with a release date yet to be disclosed.

The news emerges as games industry show Gamescom 2014 takes place in Germany this week, and it leads a raft of new PC game announcements.

Ubisoft revealed that strategy game Might & Magic Heroes VII will be available exclusively on Windows PC in 2015, and that the German closed beta for online PC title The Settlers – Kingdoms of Anteriawill start on August 20th while the international English closed beta will kick off on September 16th.

Elsewhere, EA has announced a brand new online PC action RPG in development at BioWare, titled Shadow Realms. It will consist of four-player co-op missions and the narrative will be released episodically like a TV series. Players are being urged to sign up at www.ShadowRealms.com/play for a chance to get into the closed alpha. 

And PC classic Rollercoaster Tycoon is making a comeback next year, courtesy of Atari. Rollercoaster Tycoon World for PC will launch in early 2015 and will combine track building, rides and new co-op multiplayer features as well as standard single-player modes.
