Ads conclude with the strapline ‘Ask Maplin’

Maplin launches new TV ad campaign

Maplin is about to unveil its new TV ad campaign after its first stint in advertising back in May 2014.

The tech retailer’s new ads are aimed at building on the original ‘Maplin moment’ theme.

The new campaign features the existing 30-second adverts and three new 10-second adverts, each finishing with the strapline ‘Ask Maplin’, which aims to highlight the role of the ‘Maplineer’.

After Maplin’s previous campaign, the company’s brand awareness grew from three per cent to 12 per cent.

Henry Swift, marketing director for Maplin, said: “Maplin’s first national TV campaign demonstrated to us the potential power of broadcast in reaching customers.

“As well as increasing brand awareness, online and in-store sales have continued to rise following the campaign.”

The campaign kicks off on Sunday May 3rd and will run until Sunday May 31st, featuring on 96 channels including ITV, Channel 4 and 5.
