Experienced retail exec is moving to 'a different role in a different industry'

Ketu Patel leaves Amazon.co.uk as head software buyer

Amazon UK’s category leader for video games and software, Ketu Patel, has left the etailer.

Patel told PCR he will be working in a ‘different role in a different industry’. He worked for almost six years at Amazon, after joining in April 2009 as head of commercial finance (media) before becoming the head video games and software in August 2011.

The rest of the software buying team remains the same, consisting of Matt Merrett, Mike Bembridge and Matthew Finn.

An update on who will be stepping in to fill Patel’s old role is expected in due course.

Check out the upcoming March issue of PCR for our 2015 tech retail buyers guide.

There have been a number of changes in the UK tech channel recently, with Vaughan Shayler leaving CompTIA, Charlotte Shone moving from Panda Security to Kaspersky Lab, changes at GfK and more.
