Exertis Micro-P and Exertis Gem become one business

Tech distributors Exertis Micro-P and Exertis Gem have combined into one business, and will now trade as Exertis (UK) Ltd.

The integration of the two distribution businesses will create four key product pillars for Exertis UK: IT and Mobile (managed from the Basingstoke, Stoke and Altham Offices), Home (managed from Harlow) and Supplies (managed from Elland). 

This rebrand follows the announcement in October 2013 by parent company DCC that all of its technology distribution businesses would be rebranded under the Exertis banner, and with that came the introduction of the trading names Exertis Micro-P, Exertis Gem, Exertis Advent, Exertis MSE and Exertis Ireland.

An Exertis spokesperson told PCR that Ireland-based Exertis MSE will continue to function as a separate business, while Exertis Advent will also combine with Exertis Gem and Exertis Micro-P.

The new Exertis business employs over 1,170 staff at six locations across the UK. A number of infrastructure changes have been made to the business, including the integration of IT and financial systems and the realignment of warehouses, creating total warehouse capacity of 650,000 sq ft across the UK.

Earlier this month Exertis acquired Sweden-based distributor CapTech.

Exertis UK says it quadrupled its business in the last five years and achieved revenues approaching £2 billion in FY2014.

The company represents over 200 manufacturers in the UK, with more than 25,000 products across mobile, computing and accessories, consumer electronics and more.
