Exertis makes key director appointments in purchasing team

Exertis has announced the appointment of two directors to its purchasing team. Kati Eagle has been promoted to the role of purchasing director IT/Mobile based in Basingstoke and Stephen Davidson has been recruited as the purchasing director for the consumer division, based in Harlow. Both will report to Mark Kahr, Exertis UK purchasing director.

“We have grown our business significantly over the last few years, constantly adding to our vendor portfolio across the organisation. These appointments reflect the importance of the purchasing function in technology distribution and our ambition to continue to provide a great service to our partners, and to enable our teams to provide the right stock for our resellers to serve their customers," said Kahr.

"Kati has successfully managed the entire purchasing and vendor bids teams across four sites for nearly three years. She has proven to be an ideal candidate for this new role, bringing a high level of commitment and ability to deliver projects and implement enhanced processes which add efficiency to the business. Steve is an excellent addition to the team with a wealth of purchasing experience gained in consumer electronics. He will bring greater support and focus for the commercial and sales teams in Harlow. I wish them both every success in their new roles."

Eagle has been head of purchasing at Exertis for the past three years. She has considerable experience within the industry having previously worked for nine years in commercial roles in distribution and for eight years as a buyer at PC World Business.

“I am pleased to have been given this opportunity and welcome the challenge, and responsibility of heading up the purchasing function for IT and mobile products. Exertis has grown rapidly over the last few years adding vendors and products that provide our resellers with the best choice in distribution. Satisfying our customers’ purchasing needs is fundamental to the success of all parties and will continue to be a key driver for the excellent team we have here,” said Eagle.

Davidson joins from QVC where he was the buying director for the home innovations category (IT, CE, mobile phones, gaming and household electrical) for more than eight years. Prior to that he was category manager at Woolworths for nine years. He has also worked at Tesco and John Menzies in various buying and merchandising roles.

“I am delighted to be joining Exertis, a company I have worked with in my previous roles in retail. It’s exciting to be here at a time when the company is building a consolidated consumer business unit with purchasing as one of the key functions. I am looking forward to being part of that strategy, leading an established team of experienced buyers and developing strong business relationships with vendors in the gaming, gadgets and premium audio business categories,” said Davidson.
