New range of Fujitsu Siemens laptops launch with wireless internet built-in

Esprimos go 3G

Fujitsu Siemens has launched a new range of professional laptops, Esprimo, that come with 3G connectivity built in.

The series of laptops, due to go on sale from August include three models ranging from the ultra-portable 12.1" U9200 to the 15.4" D9500 desktop replacement model. All come with widescreen and the entire range is based on Core 2 chipsets.

Executive vice president of infrastructure products at Fujitsu Siemens, Dieter Herzog said told the press that the new range were: "tailor-made for business people who do not want to lose out on any office comforts while travelling", due to their integration of 3G connectivity.

As 3G becomes more and more common, more and more businesses are looking to buy laptops with an array of wireless options. The technology was even due to be included in Intel’s Santa Rosa platform but was removed after talks between it and Nokia broke down due to differences in business strategy.

The release of the Esprimo range comes after Fujitsu Siemens chief executive Bernd Bischoff said in March that it was the company’s intention to include the technology in all of its laptops.
