Channel insolvencies down

Despite some high profile failures in the wider retail sector, the channel is fairing well, with the number of insolvencies compared to last year falling.

According to the latest report by the Insolvency Service, despite an increase in overall insolvencies of 56 per cent, the number of businesses forced into compulsory administration in the ‘computer and related activities’ fell by five, from 33 in the first quarter of 2008 to 28 during the same point in 2009.

At the same time, the number of voluntary arrangements in the computer sector fell from 14 to ten. The full list of figures are available from the Insolvency Service, by clicking here.
