Next Thing Co has released the world’s first £9 supercomputer, rivalling the likes of the Raspberry Pi.
Similar to the Raspberry Pi, the C.H.I.P can be used in a variety of ways, for example users can connect a keyboard, mouse and a display to the device and it becomes a personal computer.
The mini computer runs any Linux-based OS, plus it comes with a Debian-based OS.
It features 512MB of RAM, a 1GHz Allwinner A13 processor and 4GB of internal flash storage.
Built-in Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity is included, plus it boasts a range of ports, including a full-sized USB port and a Micro USB port.
In addition, it features an audio jack with a microphone that also acts as a way to output video via a composite cable.
Its makers have revealed that the first C.H.I.P will be available in December, and it is currently being run through a Kickstarter campaign, and has so far reached its $50,000 goal with another 29 days still to go.
