Delivery will cost £6.99

Amazon brings one-hour delivery service to UK

Amazon has launched an even faster delivery service in London, which will see customers have items delivered to their door within an hour.

Dubbed Prime Now, the service it expected to reach all of London and more cities in the UK by the end of 2015.

The new service will cost users £6.99 per order for delivery in one hour, and the order must have a maximum price of £20.

If customers also order a second product in a two-hour window, there will be no additional costs between 8am and midnight, seven days a week.

Christopher North, UK MD of Amazon, said via BBC Newsbeat: “London is our first Prime Now city in the UK and we are already working on making Prime Now available in more postcodes in London and beyond."

Current Prime members can download the Prime Now app and see if the service is already available in their location by entering their postcode, and will receive a notification when it is.

Amazon already offers its Prime delivery service, where users can get free unlimited one-day delivery on items.

This news comes after Amazon launched its same-day delivery service in the UK last year.

The service gave customers the option of picking up their items from local stores within 12 hours of ordering.
