The second Gamescom event begins with a trade-only day, later opening its doors to the public to see the games industry show off the latest titles and hardware.
The debut Gamescom in 2009 hosted around 245,000 visitors and 458 exhibitors from 31 countries, making it the largest games trade fair in the world.
Attendees can make use of the international contacts and business opportunities, and the organisiners have promised to work closely with the industry to further develop the event.
